Something special is
coming to Portland for girls’ volleyball this
summer….
A One-of-a-Kind
Comprehensive Volleyball Training Program that
Guarantees Results in Jumping Higher and Developing
a Lightening-Quick Spike and a More Intimidating,
Powerful, and Consistent Serve!
We are looking for 24
volleyball players who are passionate about really
improving their game. This isn’t the same old 3- or
4-day all-skills camp with a gym full of girls
standing around all day – wondering and hoping to
get some attention and learn something. This
training program is for the serious volleyball
player who has the burning desire to get better and
achieve the goal of playing at a higher level.
Dear Fellow
Volleyball Enthusiast,
I think we would all
agree that quality volleyball instruction is hard to
find. Private coaches are out there, but they often
have little time or gym availability. There are a
lot of clinics around town, but which ones will
really help me or my daughter improve? If you are
like me, you’ve wondered, “Am I going to spend
hundreds of dollars for my daughter to be lost in a
crowded clinic, hoping she picks up a new tip or
two?” “How can I know this camp or clinic will be
worthwhile?” “Where can we find thorough instruction
that we can trust will be coming from qualified
instructors and coaches?”
I am thrilled to have
this opportunity to introduce myself and our
exciting program to you. My name is Laura Mooney,
and I am a mother of four children who have been
very active in a variety of sports. Baseball,
football, softball, basketball, soccer, water polo,
golf, and of course, volleyball…You name a sport,
and my kids have probably competed in it. The
direction my life has taken as a result of helping
my children follow their dreams continues to
surprise me. Although my first career was as an
elementary school teacher, I now find myself
co-owner of BioForce Performance, Inc. with my
husband, Bill. As our children pursued their
athletic goals, we wanted to provide instruction for
them that would improve their skills while
minimizing the risk of injury. So we searched for
the best available in sports training, and we have
made strong connections with some of the top, elite
trainers in the USA.
In the past several
years, we’ve built a successful business offering
high level training to baseball players in the
Portland area as well as players from as far away as
the Dominican Republic.

As our youngest
daughter has been feeding a growing passion for
volleyball and participating in club volleyball, we
found that she received great instruction and team
experience. But there was one thing missing.
Something that is very critical in her development
as a total player.
What was missing was
the opportunity for her to develop her physical
strength and conditioning along with improving her
critical skills. She wants and needs to be able to
jump higher, spike harder and control her hits in
order to grow as fast as she would like as a
volleyball player.
Most Volleyball
Players Spend Their Training Time on Only One Leg of
the Table
Our experience and
education have taught us that there are four aspects
to sports training no matter which sport you enjoy.
Like a table, you need to be strong in all 4 legs of
preparation to compete. In our unique, volleyball
training program, we diligently work with the
athletes in all four aspects of performance:
1) The
mechanics of
jumping, serving, and spiking
2) Proper
conditioning to help you improve the mechanical side
while minimizing the risk of injury
3) The
mental and
emotional strength to get you through the tough
times and excel under the utmost pressure
4) And good
nutritional habits to help you fuel your body to
better prepare, compete, and recover from practice
and competition.
Competition as you
advance to higher levels becomes more and more
fierce. If you want to move up…you’d better give
yourself the greatest edge you can get.
In June, for the
first time ever in Portland, Oregon, the great
combination of technical volleyball skills,
performance training, and motivational training team
of KT Emerson, Rachael Wallace, Donn Dimond, Laura &
Bill Mooney, and the BioForce staff are going to
make certain 24 lucky young volleyball players and
their parents are finally going to know (not guess
or think or hope) on a daily basis if they are
getting better, staying the same or regressing.
Exciting stuff!
|
When it really comes
down to it, isn’t that what all volleyball players
and coaches want…to jump, serve, and spike better?
|

As a coach, there is
truly only one way to really know if a player is
getting better…
There are 3 steps you
must take to really make a difference in the
performance of an athlete.
1) Isolate the very
specific performance criteria that make a true
difference in performance.
2) Measure those
criteria so each athlete knows exactly where she is
now and how she can improve.
3) Track each
athlete’s progress on a daily basis…which offers the
athlete the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT key to her
development…and that is constant, high quality,
specific feedback on the areas that REALLY make a
difference to her ability to perform during
competition.
Meet our All-Star
Coaches
K.T. Emerson is
currently the head varsity coach at Lake Oswego High
School. She has an extensive background knowledge of
the need for shoulder strength through working with
professional trainers at Lake Oswego High School and
the Division 1 University of Portland Pilots. One of
the reasons K.T. is so passionate about helping
young volleyball players excel at their sport and
stay injury free is that she has personal experience
with injuring her shoulder twice and recovering
after surgeries in order to get back on the court.
She doesn’t want this to happen to any of her
students.
Rachael Wallace
brings a very valuable and unique background to the
BioForce program. She is a former Division 1 Pac-10
high jumper and javelin thrower at the University of
Oregon. Since her days of competing, she has trained
many high jumpers in camps and clinics through the
University of Oregon. She continues to use her
outstanding knowledge of jump training and arm
strength development with the volleyball players she
coaches at Lake Oswego High School.
Donn Dimond
- We rely
on our physical therapy expert in sports training,
Donn Dimond Physical Therapist, for very thorough
evaluations of the physical condition of our
athletes. I like to call Donn the Bill Nye the
Science Guy of our training program. He has an
incredible knowledge of the physical requirements
for training safely for sports - especially striking
and throwing sports, which require a unique training
program for the health of shoulders, elbows and
arms. Donn also has valuable input for training your
lower body to improve performance while protecting
the knees of female athletes. And he puts it all
into very understandable language. Donn says that
you don’t have to worry about building bulky muscles
from your training. We all know girls and boys are
different. Pretty obvious. What most of us don’t
know is that the muscle fiber in girls is different
than in boys. Donn assures us that girls won’t end
up looking like Arnold, but they do tend to like the
shapelier body they get from the muscles they
strengthen and tone.
I think most agree,
we’ve assembled an All-Star team to train you like
you’ve never been trained before!
I have experience
with all three of our experts’ teaching styles
personally. I feel you won’t find better teachers in
their field anywhere in the Northwest…..and quite
possibly the entire west coast.
Most Volleyball
Academies in the USA today are run by very nice,
very experienced volleyball people….BUT…
Our daughter has
learned a lot from her high school and club team
coaches, but they just don’t have the time to work
on each individual girl’s strengths and weaknesses.
Most coaches do a great job bringing teammates
together to play as a team and teaching the game,
the rotations, and the strategies of team play. But
who has quality time to spend on both teaching
skills and addressing each player’s specific
weaknesses?
Here’s what K.T. has
to say about the current state of preparation of
volleyball players….
“The high school
season is too short to spend time getting players'
bodies prepared for the volleyball training that
needs to take place at the very beginning of season.
Players need to prepare themselves physically for
the rigors of a high school and club volleyball
season. As a high school coach, I know that players
who spend the time taking care of their bodies
through strength and quickness training compete at a
higher level, avoid injury more effectively, and are
able to spend more time focusing on other aspects
besides the physical aspects of the sport during
practice.”
~ K.T. Emerson Head varsity volleyball
coach at LOHS
The Creation of the
BioForce Elite Volleyball
Training Program
Since we began our
baseball academy a few years ago, we have helped
hundreds of young athletes excel in their game. Our
pitchers gain an average of 6.5 miles per hour on
their fastball after only six weeks of training with
us. If you aren’t familiar with baseball pitching,
that’s a huge amount to gain in a short period of
time. And that’s an average. Some of our more
dedicated players have gained over 10 miles per
hour. Those are the athletes who really embrace the
system. Some of the athletes have only gained a
couple of miles per hour. Usually those are the
players who are not putting out the effort it takes
to make great gains.

We have seen about
70% of our baseball students continue on to play
college baseball...many with scholarships! Their
success has been very rewarding to us. How did we
help these players achieve their goals? Through a
program similar to the Elite Volleyball Training we
are offering to a select few players in the Portland
area.
We improve their
mechanics…..we improve their strength….we give them
great tools to help their mental-emotional part of
the game….and we provide them valuable nutritional
information to help them prepare, compete, and
repair.
Our dedicated
students get results!
So, We Asked
Ourselves, Why Not Provide Elite
Training for
Volleyball, Too?
We will help you
identify your strengths and weaknesses, and then we
will give you a program to attack the weaknesses and
measure your results. Pretty simple really. But it
takes a focused effort on your part.
“It is a fact: you
play at the level at which you practice.
Consistently good practice leads to consistently
good play. It sharpens your talent. Successful
people understand this. They value practice and
develop the discipline to do it. If you want to sum
up what lifts most successful individuals above the
crowd, you could do it with four little words: a
little bit more. Successful people pay their dues
and do all that is expected of them – plus a little
bit more.”
~ John Maxwell, Talent is Never Enough
How do we define an
Elite volleyball player?
It’s not how many
select teams you’ve played on in the past. It’s not
how old you are or how many all-league, all-team, or
all- cul-de-sac awards you’ve won.
Elite, to us, is how
passionate you are about volleyball. Do you have the
burning desire to be the best volleyball player on
your team? The best in your program? Because that’s
what it really comes down to. Who is more passionate
about being their best? Moving on to a higher level
team? How about jump starting your college
recruiting process into high gear if you are a
serious high school player?
Remember, it’s not
always the best athlete who wins or gets the
position, but the athlete who is the best prepared.
“Passion can energize
every aspect of a person’s life – including his
talent. Have you ever known a person with great
passion who lacked the energy to act on what
mattered to her? I doubt it. A passionate person
with limited talent will outperform a passive person
who possesses greater talent.”
~ John Maxwell, Talent
is Never Enough
Those are the girls
we consider Elite. Is that you?
If you haven’t
gathered it yet, our Elite Volleyball Training is
about getting results.
If you are passionate
about your volleyball training and follow our unique
program, you can expect better results in…
•
Increased velocity
on your serves
•
Improved accuracy
with your serves
• An
improved jumping
ability
• A quicker and more
aggressive spike
• A
healthier and
more durable shoulder, arm, and knees, and
better
recovery time
• Your
Mental-Emotional approach to training and
competition
|
We test you in each
of these areas, identify weaknesses, monitor your
progress throughout the training period, and measure
your gains. |
• And all that is
GUARANTEED. That’s right…our Elite Volleyball
Training Program is 100% satisfaction GUARANTEED.
Our program is THAT Good! We are the most
comprehensive volleyball training program in
Portland for a good reason…RESULTS…it works! But
dollar-for-dollar, hour-per-hour, there’s nobody who
has the quality and value of training that we do…
